About Covenant Initiatives for Care
Covenant Initiatives for Care (CIC) develops and manages ministries that serve the vulnerable, from residential programs serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and Autism, to educational programs serving youth on the Autism spectrum, to providing resources and expertise for developing community-based efforts to serve the most vulnerable, from children facing various environmental risk factors and more.
Covenant Initiatives for Care is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the vulnerable and supporting other organizations to achieve that same mission. Since its founding in 1885, the Evangelical Covenant Church has sought to follow the biblical call in Matthew 25 to care for those who are in need. That legacy, which began with the Home of Mercy in Chicago for orphans, seniors, and people who were sick, continues today with Covenant Initiatives for Care.
Our family of ministries is dedicated to caring for people on the margins, and we provide the leadership and resources needed to make that work possible. CIC offers a full range of support services to our affiliates—legal, financial, managerial, and spiritual – in order to care for those who need it most through dynamic, self-sustaining ministries.
